Doggie Playdate this (and every) Saturday 1-3pm

We will be having our weekly doggie playdate this Saturday from 1-3pm. For those of you that don't know, we have a large dog safe enclosure surrounded by 6 foot fences. That area is our unsupervised dog yard (but most people hang out in there too). The rest of the farm is our supervised area that dogs and there owners can wander on-leash and check out our garden, chickens, goats and horse, Jasmine.

We serve complimentary coffee, juice, and snacks. There's plenty to do for kids too. We have a swingset, slides and petting zoo. One game we let older kids play is "catch the chicken". Quite often we have several escapee chickens wandering the farm, we let kids catch them and put them back in there enclosure. It's more fun than it sounds!

The cost for the playdate is $10 and $7 for each additional dog. It is held every Saturday 1-3. If it is a total washout, the raindate is the following Sunday. If you would like to reserve a space or get more information, call 401-662-1672 or email chadbrow@yahoo.com. We are at 328 American Legion Hwy (Rte 177) in Westport, MA.

10th Annual Pet Fest at Buttonwood Park, New Bedford

We just got back from the Pet Fest at Buttonwood Park in New Bedford, MA. We had a booth set up selling eggs, honey, dog cookies and promoting our Doggie Daycare and Doggie Playdates. We met a lot of great people and saw some cool dogs.

The Pet Fest benefited The Coalition for Animals. Here is their mission statement:

Our mission is to create awareness in the community for the humane treatment of all animals; to help end the problem of companion animal overpopulation through spay/neuter; to promote the adoption of homeless companion animals; and to provide people with the educational information they need to help keep their companion animals safe and healthy.

Goldie's the Hero

Yesterday, while playing out in the yard with the kids, a Very Large Pit bull runs up to our gate. I send Chad up to investigate, calling the kids back further into the yard not wanting any trouble from the new friend who arrived.  The Pit bull was obviously nervous, and as Chad approached him he ran behind our van.  Suddenly he came Running full speed and straight out of our yard, and who was right behind him, Goldies.
Later that night we went for a walk, on our way back it began to rain, and we began to run.  As we took a corner, we come face to face with our new friend, Again!  He again ran down the road and we called Animal Control.  We lost track of him on 177, but really hope he made it to his family.
Best of Luck Mr. Pitt Bull

The Eggs are Back!

The girls are back laying eggs! The change in the weather has done them good and we're now getting a good production level. This Spring we'll be adding at least two hundred more hens to our flock. Remember, Run Dog Run Eggs are from healthy free-ranged hens that are fed an all natural diet and and, of course, humanely raised. Come visit the farm!
