Thanksgiving is almost here! All our turkeys have long since sold out, but remember us for your 2016 Thanksgiving dinner. The best time to order one is early, about September.

This years pickup is Tuesday, November 24 from 4-6pm. We will have lots of other items for sale as well including pork, eggs, honey, turnips, potatoes, butternut squash, apple cider and egg nog. All our items is locally grown and produced. See you then!

Thanksgiving Turkey pickup is tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the big day! Our turkeys will be ready to pick up this Sunday, from 4-6pm right here at Run Dog Run Farm. We had one customer back out last minute and have one turkey available if anyone is interested. Other than that, they are all sold out. We will also have lots of local produce for sale including Macomber turnips, butternut squash, yellow onions, carrots, Rhode Island potatoes, apples, Noquochoke apple cider, eggs, honey and pork.

Chicken and Pork Available

Hello everybody,

We just want you to know we have chicken and pork for sale in our farm stand freezer.

The chicken is whole and frozen and was raised on our pasture. They ate a natural diet of grass, weeds, bugs which was supplemented with some non-medicated flock raiser grain.

Our pork was also raised on our farm and was just processed right before Thanksgiving. We have different cuts available: pork chops, roasts, ground pork and ham steaks.

All these are limited in availability, so get over to the farm soon. They are in the farm stand freezer and is self serve. Prices will be marked on the package, just drop payment in the cash box.

As always, we also have eggs and honey for sale too. See you soon!

Thanksgiving Turkey Pickup

Thanksgiving turkey pickup will be this SUNDAY at the farm from 3-5pm. We will also have local apples, turnips, squash, potatoes, eggs and apple cider. We had A LOT of requests for turkeys we just couldn't fill. Keep us in mind for you 2014 thanksgiving turkey and contact us early (September).

Local Products Wanted!

We're looking for local products to sell at our farm stand. If you or someone you know makes or sells interesting local items, let us know, we want to sell more than honey and eggs at our roadside stand. The stand is self-serve and honor system so pricey items may be out. And it is semi open to the elements so fragile items may not work well. And consignment works best for us as well. LET US KNOW!

What's going on this Spring

Hello everybody. It's been a while since our last farm update. We've been busy this Spring with about 150 new chickens (so far), three new dairy goats and a young handsome ram (he's for sale).

Our garden has been expanded by about 6 raised beds. It may be hard to stay on top of the weeding as we are expecting our fifth child this summer.

We think we may do the Fairhaven Farmers Market opening weekend on Father's Day and once a month on the first Sunday. Again, our spare time is limited with a new baby joining us. 

We do have our small farm stand at the farm in Westport open all the time. We hope to see you soon.

Firewood Cutting Rack

 

We have been getting a lot of firewood this season that is too long for our woodstove. The max size we can fit is about 16". So I built this rack out of scrapwood that I can stuff long firewood and then chainsaw them down to size. It worked pretty good especially if you put them in real tight so they don't shift.

 

Turkey Update

The turkeys are sold out, but for those of you who are expecting your turkey...
The time is here, Turkey time! You turkey will be ready for pickup tomorrow, tuesday, November 20 from 6-8 pm. The turkeys will be super fresh and include the giblets. 

We will also have local apple cider, butternut squash, carrots, onions, turnips, eggs and honey. We prefer cash but can take check or credit card.

Come to the farm (in the kitchen) at 328 American Legion Hwy, Westport MA.

We can't wait to see you tomorrow, and we'll have some hot apple cider to share!

Besides having our pre-ordered turkeys for pickup Tuesday evening, we will have local apple cider, Westport turnips, squash, carrots, onions, honey and eggs for sale at the farm. Can't wait to see everyone Tuesday, and we will have complementary hot apple cider too!

Not too late for Thanksgiving Turkeys

We have a few Thanksgiving Turkeys left for the holiday this season. We raise them all-naturally, without antibiotics, medication, growth hormones and they are free range. They spend the day on the ground, eating grass and scratching for bugs. The result is a delicious and tender bird that you will be proud to have on your Thanksgiving table, we know we are!
